Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

If I wanted to sell my home, will I pay less by going through a lawyer as opposed going through a Real Estate agency? If I go through a lawyer, what should I be aware of or how do I go about it??

Unless the lawyer were also a real estate agent or broker, the lawyer and

the agent would have different functions in the process of selling

your house, namely the former would be involved with listing and

showing the property to prospective buyers while the latter would be

involved in reviewing and advising you on the legal aspects of

the transaction., and, perhaps, handling the closing of the real estate

transaction.

Bottom line aseessment: you should have both agent and lawyer involved in

representing you in the transaction.
