Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia

On 9/14 my license was suspended for a civil judgement. On 9/16 I rear ended someone and received a ticket for following too close and for driving on suspended. I drove home afterward. A week later I received a criminal arrest warrant for driving without a license. The magistrate agreed it should have been a summons, although I was arrested. I have the DMV notification that is postmarked the same date as my accident and ticket for driving on suspended. I cannot afford a lawyer and the fines. How can I overcome the 3rd ticket for driving without a license (because I drove home after receiving a ticket for driving on suspended)?

If you did not know of the suspension of your driving privileges at the time of the accident, then you may be allowed to plead guilty to a less serious charge such as no valid operatior's license (NVOL) with the suspension of any jail time that might be imposed.

In your discussion of the matter before court with the prosecutor assigned

to your case, it would be wise to avoid any reference as to how you managed to get home after the accident.
