Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia

reckless driving ticket

I have an out of state driving lc, living in va since 3 mths. Got reckless driving tkt 95/65 when I was driving alone on a hwy in a rental car. I am taking driving class next wk. I have one stop sign ticket from two years ago in my driving record -3 pts only. What are my chances of not going to jail? Obviously this is my first offense. I am very shaky right now. Pls post some needful information. I am definetely going to seek a local attorney for that court day. The only thing I do not want is jail.

Re: reckless driving ticket

Jail time is only one component of this charge. Indeed, most court will assess a day in jail for each mile above 90. However, this is a gross generalization.

The first issue is to attack the charge and then, should that fail, to mitigate the damages.

Your reference to seeking local counsel to represent you in this matter is very well advised

and should be followed through without delay.
