Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia

speeding/reckless driving ticket

I received a ticket for reckless driving due to speed of 83 in a 55. Can this offense carry jail time if convicted and am I allowed to attend traffic school to keep the ticket off my record?

This took place in Brunswick County , VA.

Re: speeding/reckless driving ticket

Reckless driving(over 80 mph)is a jailable offense and a conviction for such will always carry other adverse consequences for the one convicted of this offense such as an increase in insurance premiums and, perhaps, even the loss of a promotion or selection for a job.

Therefore, to minimize these possible adverse consequences, you would be well advised to retain an attorney to represent you in the Virginia traffic court having jurisdiction over this particular matter.
