Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia

warrant for arrest in another state
My husband has a warrant for his arrest in another state due to unpaid traffic tickets. just finding out about this i did some research and found out that we could enter a plea in absentia, we did as guilty. as i was told this would have it so that the case would just carry a fine. We are without a doubt finacially unable to go to virgnia to either clear the dispute or stand trail. we are in desperation for any light on this situation. we can afford an ''affordable attorney'' and he also has withstanding cases in the state we live in now.The major rush on this case is we have until 01/08/2006 to get his drivers license, we cant do that until the cases in virginia are cleared. PLEASE HELP!! thank you so much.
