Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia

My wife received a summons, last month, citing Virginia Statute 46.2-830 (Failure to Obey a Highway sign...speeding 44 in a posted 30mph zone). My wife's surname was mispelled \on the summons. The route number/Street on the VUS REV 7-01-09 form shows the type of car my wife was driving! The location of offense shows an intersection of "Main Street + Main Street" (not real name of street).

The speed limit on this street changes from 30 mph to 40 mph about 3/4 of the way in the direction my wife ws travelling (she does not remember where shere was pulled over). Because of discrepencies in the way the form was filled out, should my wife fight the summons?

No, not because the summons may contain discrepancies which can

easily be corrected by the prosecutor on the day of the hearing, but rather

for the better reason that she was not speeding as charged (if in fact such is the case).
