Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Virginia

can a family trust protect my assets if I am sued

I am personally being sued for a business situation(got papers in mail a week ago) and am wondering if I can put my personal and business assets in a Family trust to protect them and if would look suspicious if I do it now? Also, what type of items can go in this trust?

Yes, it indeed would look very suspicious and likely could be reversed by your potential claimants upon proper application to a court of proper jurisdiction as a move on your part to defraud creditors.
