Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Virginia

Do I need legal representation?

I have recently been named a an heir in my late aunt's will. What steps do I need to take and do I need legal representation to aid me in a possible inheritance? I am currently in a chapter 13 banruptcy and understand that I have certain steps to take in that regard as far as contacting my lawyer and trustee. I need to know how to proceed in finding out what the actual will stated and what the estates actual value is. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Do I need legal representation?

You should contact the executor of your aunt's estate for this information. If the will has been filed for probate, you could also go the court house where the probate of the will is being handled and request to see the file so that you could personally review the will.
