Step-Mother Will Not Show Will, What Can I Do??

My father passed and has a will, but the stepmother will not show the will to family. There were witnesses to the will, but they will not speak up for my fathers 3 children. What can we do to get a copy or what can be done... she is trying to sell my fathers property and not including any children in it????

Re: Step-Mother Will Not Show Will, What Can I Do??

You could try contacting the attorney who drew up

your deceased father's will and request a copy.

You could also contact the commissioner of accounts who is assigned to oversee the probate of your father's estate to see whether she or he might be of assistance in this matter.

Finally, if none of the above avails of a remedy for your problem, you could arrange to consult with an attorney knowledgeable in probate matters to determine whether an action for abatement of waste or other appropriate action might be filed in the probate court which would require the executor(your stepmother) to give an accounting of her actions thus far in what you allege to be her mismanagement of the administration of your father's estate.
