Legal Question in Business Law in Washington

breach of contract

i am a home daycare provider, i have a certificate through the child development home program, sponsored by the u.s. navy. i have a parent who was a day late with payment and i mentioned to her my policy. i basically told her i expect to be paid when payment is due. after paying me she told me this is her last two weeks. that was on a friday. it was a very busy week of me trying to get my money from her. that monday i asked her if she would be able to pick her girls up at 4:00 instead of the normal contracted time of 5:00 she said she would not be able to,she told me i was in breach of our contract. she then came back with her husband and we agreed that her husband would be able to pick the girls up at 4:45 i never asked her to sign anything or write a new contract it was simple verbal agreement. she asked for a copy of the contract. the next day she told me she was picking her girls up early and she was taking me to court. did i do anything wrong? she also told me she was recording our phone conversation and then she hung up i never agreed to that, can she do that? i feel as if now she has lost out because she has paid me and she does not want to bring her girls back, do i need to give that money back? please help thank you

Re: breach of contract

First, the simple thing: no one can record another person or their voice without that person's permission. If they do, it is a cxriminal misdemeanor and the tape recording cannot be use in a court of law for any reason. Your contract question is too complex for this type of mode of response because an attorney would have to see your contract and go over your sequence of events with you carefully to get a complete fact picture.
