how do i get my personal belongings back?

I need advice on how to get my personal belongings back. I left this relationship about 1.5-2 years ago... and have tried to contact other party. No response and he is withholding personal property of mine. like some valuable collections of mine. All because of anger and jealousy.

You could propose mediation through one of the local alternative dispute resolution centers. I also do volunteer mediations (without charge). If the other party will not agree to some form alternative dispute resolution, you have two other options that are worth talking about (i.e. options that do not result in your having significant potential legal liability): forget about the things, file suit for the return of the property (or its value). The two legal concepts that would form the basis of a suit are trespass to chattels and conversion. Depending on value you could sue in small claims court/district court/superior court.
