Legal Question in Technology Law in Washington

If I hire a firm to build a software program for me how do I make sure they don't turn around and sell the same design to someone else? I plan to sell the program and will rely on being the exclusive developer. The company I am hiring is based in India. International IP laws are probably different from US - how do I protect myself in this case?

I would agree with Ms Grosse. Find an IP lawyer, and in addition to all the controls you want, be sure to get your choice of law and choice of forum in the contract.
