Billing

I recieved a quote to re roof my home, I agreed to this quote and the work was completed. When the foreman of the job completed the work he stated that he would have to re figure the bill as he needed to review the materials used. I recieved a bill which was considerably lower than the origional quote. I paid this bill and recieved a '' paid in full'' stamp on the bill. I have now been informed by the company that there was a mistake and the bill is higher. Am I required to paid this additional ammount?

Probably not. Retroactively adding charges to a bill that is all ready paid doesn't sound reasonable.

On the other hand, licensed contractors tend to have aggressive attorneys and if you received the benefit of higher quality materials, perhaps they have a legitimate claim.

I couldn't tell without reviewing the entire transaction.

But based on what you are saying, the contractor priced his work and you paid it. In the absence of a change order from you, I can't see that he has a basis to inflate the bill.
