Legal Question in Consumer Law in Washington
Parking Lot Rit Off
I parked at an underground parking lot in Bremerton, Wa owned by Diamond Parking. I put the parking fee in the proper slot and went about my business. When I returned there was a notice on my windshield sayaig I did not pay and there was a $25.00 fee. There was no employee on the premises so I just ignored it. A month later I got a letter in the mail saying that the fee was now $50 and would go to collections if not paid. There is no way I can ''prove'' I paid, but I truly did. I use that lot 20 times or more a year and have never had this problem. Do I have any recourse?
Thank you

Re: Parking Lot Rit Off
Did you call the number on the ticket envelope when you got the ticket envelope?
Did you write them a letter?
I'm asking because I had a very similar experience with a Diamond lot, except I paid the wrong amount.
I called them and they reversed the ticket, end of story.
If you write to them now and 'splain what happened, and that you are a regular customer, and perhaps apologize for taking so long, they might reverse the charges for you, too.
Hope that helps. Elizabeth Powell
