no contact order

I have a no contact order placed against me.If my ex-girl friend is at work can I go into the rented house(under my name)and get my things?If not how do I get my things ?Thank you Jeff

I recommend against that. You should get a "civil standby" authorized by the court that granted her the order. This allows you to go to the residence with a law enforcement officer present.

Is the order address specific? If so, then you cannot go there. Also, if the order designates her "place of residence" or uses similar language. Generally its a bad idea for you to go get your stuff alone. It leave you open to a theft or burglary charge.

What you need to do is go before the court and ask them to approve a one time civil stand-by. Then you need to call the cops and have them accompany you to get your things.
