Legal Question in Criminal Law in Washington

Illegal use of pepperspray??

My issue is upon leaving a night club last saturday night in downtown

Seattle, WA. As the crowd was filing out of the club, the bouncers/club

security were spraying mase or pepperspray to dispurse the crowd and make

them move faster. There were NO fights, NO disputes and no just reason why

they should be spraying other than to help the employees get home faster.

My issue that I have is the fact that this inappropriate (illegal??) use of

pepperspray caused my asthma to inflame and I ended up having to take

extreme precausions because I felt like I was going to have an asthma

attack. This is not the first incident, about 2 months ago, it happend then

too. I was very concerned at that time with how frivilously (sp?) they were

useing the product, that I ended up calling the club and talke to the office

manager. He assured me the issue would be dealt with... yeah right! So my

question: IS it illegal for the bouncers to spray it in the air for NO

reason other than to make people!

move faster? And is there a way to make them stop?? I\'m not a sue happy

person, but I sure would like to give them a bit of a scare since I did give

them a heads up 2 months prior. It\'s very frustrating being sprayed

They would be responsible for any resulting damages. you can sue them in small claims court if the damages are small. If over $15,000 in medical bills contact me directly.
