Legal Question in Criminal Law in Washington

victim wants charges brought against defendant

My ex boyfriend is currently in jail for violating his probation. He was on probation after being convicted of rape 3, harassment, and att taking a motor vehicle w/o permission. His sentencing judge revoked the remainder of his probation on Tuesday but it only gave him 2 more months. Dept of corrections court gave him 150 days for 8 violations (2 involving me). They told me that he'd get more time because they'd file new charges for violating a no contact order for the 3rd time, etc. Then the detective says the prosecutor's office rejected the new charges the same day I was told they would file new ones. I was told that because he's denying it they aren't pursuing it despite the fact that he failed his polygraph test. This guy showed up at my apt after following and harassing me. He inappropriately touched me. He threatened me with a knife that he had with him. I'm terrified at the idea of him getting out sooner because they don't file new charges. Can I file charges on my own behalf? Or make them file charges? I'm just wondering if there is anything else I can do to keep this guy locked up longer? Thanks.

Although generally I work on the other side, you need to advocate for yourself. Contact the prosecutors office and let them know how you want them to proceed.
