Do I have to tell the father of my unborn child when I am going into labor?

Not by law, but at some point, if you hide this child and the father seeks custody, that is not gong to go well for you. If you and the father are not getting along and you are unmarried, then if I were you, I would immediately (now before the child is born) start a paternity case that allows for entry of both custody and support orders. In fact, you may be able to get support now, before the child is born to help with child related expenses such as medical care (for you and the baby and later for the baby after the baby is born).

That will also allow you to have a something in place that legally tells you what your rights and responsibilities are, so that you don't have to keep guessing. If at all possible, hire local counsel to help you do this, as it can get tricky and frustrating when doing the paperwork.
