Legal Question in Family Law in Washington

My rights as a concerned father

I had a child out of wedlock. I am no longer with the mother. I have been paying child support for 2 years now and have been caring for the child at least 3-4 days a week for a year and a half. The mother of the child now wants to move the child or send him to Guam to live with her parents while she attends school in California. I would like to establish a stable home for the child. What rights do I have for custody of the child or what do I have to do to establish a parenting plan in order to prevent her from moving the child? She is exhibiting passive aggressive behavior and is hiding what she is eventually going to do with the child.

Re: My rights as a concerned father

You would file a petition for establishment of parentage. Among other things, you would file a proposed parenting plan, and if you have real concerns of her taking off in a hurry, you may want to file an ex-parte restraining order.

You have rights, but you have to do something about them. Stop wasting your time on the internet and get a lawyer.
