Legal Question in Medical Leave in Washington

Maternity Leave

I worked in a gas station from the time my boss found out I was pregnant she put up a help wanted sign, I was 5 months. She said she needed someone to take my position, Because she needed to be covered in case I delivered early. That left me w/ only 5 hrs a week or less depending on if someone needed shift covered. Prior to this I worked 40+ hrs a week.

Re: Maternity Leave

The first question that needs to be answered is the number of employees the employer has. If it is just you and the owner, then there is no coverage under federal law. You may want to check with a local attorney to determine if there is some state law that covers your situation.
