Legal Question in Immigration Law in Washington

I am getting married to a foreign national who is in the country on a student visa which expires in july. If the residency paperwork is underway at the time her student visa expires, is she able to stay in the country until the paperwork goes through?

Hi,

If you are a U.S. citizen, then the proper filing of the sponsorship paperwork prior to expiration of the immigrant spouse's status in July will allow the immigrant spouse to remain in the U.S. legally without having to depart the U.S. Additional information is here: www.h1b1.com/Uscitizen.htm

Are you a U.S. citizen? If so, you can sponsor your spouse for a green card. Your spouse will be able to adjust his or her status here in the U.S. and procure a green card.

My offices routinely handles these cases. Feel free to call me at 4082452416 or email me at [email protected]
