My parents deed there house of1941 to the 4 kids and 1 wants to buy it and the other do not, but the one that wants to buy it, is the favorite and the father wants it to remain in the family, we have been paying insurance, water and sewer and we cannot agree to a price or anything. Can they force me to sell it? I am trying to sell my house, so I can buy it. My dad is still alive and my folks are off the house. Can they have a partion come in as well? thanks

Re: Deeded House

Look at the deed. Have your parents relinquished any ownership interest they might have had? When did this happen?

You and your sibilings can sit down with a mediator and try to reach a resolution. Alternatively, your siblings can bring an action for ejectment and you can respond with a quiet title action.

If the Court gets involved, it may well order the house to be sold. As I'm sure you have noticed, the market is not good right now. This is a tough time to try to sell real property.

If you cannot agree on a price, the court will let the market determine the price. Your siblings can't force you to sell, but a court can order the house sold if the four of you owners cannot agree about the price and the terms.
