Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Washington

Owner Violates Purchase Agreement

My wife and I signed a purchase aggrement for a mobile home after my wife moved into it for a month with her mom helping her make the first payment. The purchase agreement only included my wife and I and now her mom is telling the owner to just put my wife and her on the title. What are my options since I made all payments except one and my wife's mom was not part of the agreement?

Re: Owner Violates Purchase Agreement

I would say if you have a written and signed purchase agreement, your mother-in-law cannot be put into the purchase contract without your permission. However, some of what you wrote was a little confusing. For example, you talk of this purchase agreement, but since you have made payments, I assume you now have title to this mobile home. If so, how it is that your mother-in-law got the trustee to add her name and remove your name from the deed? I'd need more information to help you. I'd be happy to talk with you. In the alternative, I think you ought to give another attorney a call to figure out your rights. Good Luck!
