Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Washington

Transfer of Title

My ex-boyfriend's name is on the title along with mine to a boat&trailer, horse trailer and truck. 100% of the cash investment is mine and I have paperwork to prove it. He is now refusing to allow me to take is name off the titles - meaning he won't sign anything - even though at the time of the purchases he said he would not try to take anything from me in the event of a breakup. Is there a way to get his name removed from the title without his involvement? Thank you.

Re: Transfer of Title

First, your issue is not one of real property. The boat, trail, horse trailer, etc. are all considered personal property. Secondly, the short answer to your question is no. Unfortunately, because his name is on the title, he does have a legal right to the property. You would need to file a complaint to remove him from the title.
