Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Washington

House and property under trust

My parents drew up a family trust including their residence ,property, and monetary assets.Since then my father has died and my mother has allowed another man to live with her in her residence. If my mother should die while he still resides at her residence,is there any way he could claim it?They have not married.

Re: House and property under trust

The general answer is that unless he has a lease or rental agreement he would not have a basis for staying if the legal owner told him to leave. The most he could do is force the legal owner to evict him (i.e. file for a writ of restitution). That said, there are details of the situation, that don't know about, and that may affect my opinion.
