Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in West Virginia

husband woke up while surgery was being performed

my husband had surgery last august repairing arteries in both legs. he woke up while they was putting the tubes down his throat. he heard every words the nurses, doctors were saying. he passed out only when the pain became unbearable. he is on social security and disabled. he is suffering from nightmares but because of money he can't go to a psychiatrist or counselor. please what can we do so that other will not go through this.

I had a similar case a number of years ago. The patient was administered curare--a paralyzing agent--without being administered the "knockout" drug. She was awake, but unable to move, during abdominal surgery.
