Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in West Virginia

Wills

I would like to purchase the Wills Package from the Lawguru.com website. After I purchase the package, what should be done with the forms (Will)? Should it be recorded in the courthouse? Does it have to be notized? I am concerned that the document may not be legal.

Re: Wills

In West Virginia a signature of the testator on a typewritten will must be witnessed by two non-interested adults who sign the document. The will is not effective until death at which time the person who has it must deliver it to the County Commission within 30 days of death. The witnesses will be called to acknowledge their signatures before the clerk, unless the will contains an acknowledgment and notary signature with seal. This is the very short version of this answer. I recommend that you see a lawyer, at least, after you work up your own will and let him or her look at it. The fee should be nominal and the peace of mind alone will be worth it.
