Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Wisconsin
Apartment Lease
I filed bankruptcy on 10/11/2005. I can no longer afford my rent due to drastic changes in my employment status. Since I had to include information about leases in my bankruptcy, does this mean that they are like other creditors included in the bankruptcy in that they cannot sue me for money owed? I need to move out & would like to know my rights & the best way to handle this.

Hello,
A lease is a debt. If you are willing to give up the lease and move out, you will not owe on the debt.
