Legal Question in Entertainment Law in Wisconsin

Minors and the Media

I was wondering what the law is pertaining to the media's broadcasting of minor children on tv. Does it require the parents or guardian to sign a release or otherwise give permission? I know I had to sign a release to allow my children to post artwork on the internet thru school, but I don't want to assume it is the same for television etc. Thank you.

More facts are needed to know the answer.

I presume you are talking about a news program showing children, such as for example the schoolkids in Littleton. No special permission would be needed for new stories on breaking news. Freedom of the press would prevail there. If you have a more complex situation like unauthorized use of personal images in a non-news context, repost and we will try to answer.
