Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Wisconsin

Divorce and recent Inheritance

If I get divorced and I have just received a sizeable inheritence--is that considered community property and will it be divided if I get divorced. Part of the money I invested in a lake home. How does the community property state handle inheritance monies?

Re: Divorce and recent Inheritance

Inheritance is listed as a non-marital asset under Wiscxonsin's statutes. However, you must keep the property separate in order for it to retain that non-marital characteristic.
