rites of heirs

I would like to know if I have a right to read the will of my mother to see if I would entitled to any

cash or property. My stepfather has the will and will

not allow me to see it.

Re: rites of heirs

Wisconsin law requires the will of a decedent be

filed in the office of the Register of Probate in

the county where the decedent died, within 30 days

of the decedent's death. While the penalties for

late filing are not significant, there are some

means then to get the court to order the filing, at

which time the will generally becomes public.
