Contract for Deed

I was purchsing a home on contract. Now th eperson is being foreclosed on. I have already invested 4700.00 in the years I have lived there. Do I have any recourse?

It depends upon the situation. If you took the contract for deed subject to the mortgage, you are probably out of luck. But, there are occasions in which you may have a valid defense, and it all depends upon the documents in your particular case and when they were recorded.

The best advice I can give is to seek out the lawyer of your choice and have that lawyer review the specific documents. Advice like this, without reviewing the particular documents and knowing the full fact situation is impossible to give.
