Legal Question in Family Law in California

What are the first steps I'd need to take in filing for child support/custody and all that's included? My sons are 4 and 2 and their father and I are heading towards splitting up. We are not married but currently live together and I'm not sure what steps I need to make. Please help me head in the right direction.

You need to file and serve a petition for paternity along with a motion to establish child custody, visitation and support.
