Does the form contain the branch address. Did it contain the name of Subhash Gunjal. If that were so, immediately inform the branch concerned, as well as Gunjal that you have signed it mistakenly. If otherwise the form is blank in all particulars and if the Bank opens an account on the basis of your introduction and if the account holder is not a bonafide honest individual, there is a liklihood of your being accused as an abettor to any illegal transactions by the account holder.

You have stated, you signed blank account opening from. Did included any person /company name - for whom the account was to be opened? Any branch name?

One should not sign any document blank, and that too when you do not know the person well.

As you have an account with HDFC go and inform them as to what has happened, they would be the best persons to guide you in the matter. They may alse be able to identify, due to computerization, as to who and in which branch an account has been opened with your introduction.

Thereafter issue a letter of disclaimer, if you feel the need of it.
