Legal Question in Criminal Law in Alabama

Harassment

My ex-husband filed a complaint for harassment against me because I called him to discuss some serious issues regarding our children. I called him three times within a thirty minute time frame because he kept haning up. I was advised by friend of the court to try and resolve our problems outside of court, which is what I attemtpted to do. I was not arrested, but the state trooper who filed the report said I could possibly be charged with ''malicious mischief'' or something similar. I have never had legal problems before and I don't know what to expect.

Re: Harassment

Why was a state trooper involved? Was this incident on a highway? If not, it was probably a police or sheriff's deputy. Not splitting hairs, but it could make a difference. I would not do anything until you hear from the police. This sounds fairly minor, and the courts are clogged up enough already. If you do get a summons or warrant, contact my office for assistance.
