Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama

Ok. I'm 20 years old and I got my ex-gf pregnant when she was 14 and I was 18 going on 19. I've joined the national guard and i'm going to be getting a bloodtest very soon. And then pay back child support and continue to press child support. The mother of my ex-gf is ok with this. So there is nothing to worry about right?

If you were 18 and got a 14 year old pregnant, you could easily be prosecuted for "statutory" rape as it is commonly known. Second Degree Rape is defined as:

In alabama Being 16 years old or older, he or she engages in sexual intercourse with a member of the opposite sex less than 16 and more than 12 years old; provided, however, the actor is at least two years older than the member of the opposite sex. (a class B felony)

I would avoid the blood test and begin paying child support immediately outside of the court system. There is no statute of limitations for rape.
