Changing custody

My son is sixteen and wants to live with me ,his father.His mother has full custody .My question is if his age has anything to do with the decision of a judge to give joint custody if the mother objects to this.

age may play a part depending on the judge and the maturity of the child. the general rule is that the welfare of the child is of the utmost importance. many issues come to bare on a change of custody and you should consult an attorney for a definitive answer to this question.
