Child custody

I need to find out what I have to do to get custody of a child I've had for 9 months now the mother signed a court paper saying she was giving all her rights up to the child to me.And she left state and has not returned.Now I heard from someone that she sent them a e-mail saying she was coming back to get her.Now she hasn't called me and said anything and I have been in front of the judge but she said she wants a answer from the mother just saying she was still gonna give this child to me.Now this child does not know her and she is only 10 months old I am the only one she knows will you please tell me what I need to do I have been to court now three times to see the judge to get full custody of the child I would like to adopt her as soon as I get custody if possible.But I'm lost now because I don't know where else to turn for answers don't have the money for attoneys so please what do I do?

You should be able to get custody by filing a petition in the juvenile court for custody. Also, no doubt you are going to have to have a lawyer because there is no way you can adopt without going through the proper process which is going to require a lawyer. The court can appoint you a lawyer for the custody case. But the adoption will be in probate court, not juvenile court.
