Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama

Father that is abusive to people living with his child

My sister-in-law and nephew live with my wife and me. The nephew's father is quite abusive when he picks up and drops off his son( ie This statement was made to me after I asked why he hadn't called when he was 45 minutes late returning his son, ''Your nothing more than a babysitter, and if you don't back off I'm going to kick your ####.'') I try not to react to these statements because they are made in front of his son, my nephew, but it is difficult. Is this a lifestyle we are going to have to make allowances for. The father sees his son once a month, which I feel is very important, but the abuse at the end of the weekends is rediculous.

Your sister in law is going to have to deal with this problem. This can be done by confronting him, or having an attorney file a petition to modify the divorce decree to restrict visitation.

As alawys, she will need to consult with a lawyer regarding the specifics of this.
