Legal Question in Family Law in Alabama

My wife and I have an appointment with an attorney to work out an uncontested divorce. Will there technically be a plaintiff and a defendant in this situation? If I ask a question is there a possibility that the attorney will tell me that they cannot advise me one way or the other because they are representing the other party in this case?

There will be a plaintiff and defendant in the lawsuit. Don't use the word "technically". There is a plaintiff (her) and a defendant (you) the Lawyer will have to tell you that he does not represent you, he may NOT give you legal advice and MUST have you sign a paper saying he explained this to you. NEVER let anyone tell you that he or she "represents both of you" it does not work that way.
