Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Alabama

Circuit court judges cannot be approached

We recently received a judgement on our child support case that contains numerous inaccuracies regarding whether evidence was presented, previous orders form this same judge, and the general slant is entirely away from the children and in favor of the mother. We would like to ask the judge why he was so obviously prejudiced, but have been told that we are not able to talk to him. He's an elected official; why can't we speak with him? We have considered filing an appeal, but the cost is a difficult hurdle to overcome, so we'd really just like to know what he was thinking,a nd how to explain to the kids that they are worth $300 less in our custody than in their mothers'. Any suggestions?

The judge will not discuss any matter with you without the other side being present. You might could file a motion for the judge to reconsider his ruling if it is not too late. You need to consult with an attorney as soon as possible.
