In the state of Alabama, property owned by Amos (father), who died in 1997. Amos had a will and left properties to his Cheryl (daughter) and Mike (son) with the stipulation that they must wait until age 30 or 5 years after his death to have power over their inheritance (3 houses). Amos' Sister named executor until they respectively reached age 30 or 5 years. The executor has allowed properties to incur tax liens over the past several years. Do Cheryl or Mike (his children) have an legal recourse? Can they claim any of these properties, if the taxes were paid?

Was an estate opened? They have a claim to the properties. The executor has a duty to pay the taxes and is personally liable if she did not properly protect the interests of the heirs.
