Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Alabama

My grandmother passed away last year. Her will stated that everything would be split evenly between my mother and uncle. The day they were suppose to finalize the paperwork my mother was admitted into the hospital where she died of pneumonia 2 wks later. My question is. Since she passed away does her half of the inheritance pass down to us? Her children.

Generally, her estate is now entitled to inherit. So the question is now, are you in line to take under her estate, and that depends on if you are included in her Will, or if she died without a will, that is, intestate. Also consider that now her estate must be probated, and financial claims against her estate could come into play.
