Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Alabama

Original Will

I made out a will about 3 yrs ago. It is a very thick complicated will. Can I just type out on one page what is to be done to my proptery and belongs, have it notirized and attach it to the one that was done by an attorney. Was that will filed in the courts and if so, would it change my condo deed name and date? Thank you

Re: Original Will

You can do anything you want with your own Will. You paid for it and it belongs to you. However, that being said, you also most likely want to make certain that the provisions of your will are carried out since you won't be around to make that happen. Is it worth the risk that you might make a mistake? Lawyers go to school for years to learn how to navigate the legal system. I wouldn't write my own prescriptions and neither would you. Leave it to the professionals. If you were not happy with your previous lawyers, ask for referrals from friends. You might only need a simple codicil to your original will.
