Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Alaska

I live in Arizona and signed a lease agreement for an apartment about 4 years ago. My husband and I had a domestic violence issue and we moved out of the apartment breaking the lease agreement. I know that in Arizona you can break a lease agreement if there is domestic violence, but we did not advise the apartment that this situation had occured. Now we are being sued for the unpaid rent. Is there anyway around this?

This apartment is in Alaska?

Alaska has no provision allowing you to break a lease because of domestic violence.
