Legal Question in Traffic Law in Alaska

Hello I have a very important legal matter. I live in alaska, and I got into a car accident, where I rear ended a car, I move to get out of the way, and ended up hitting another car, accidentally hitting the gas an not the break I zoomed off and hit a tree in a persons yard where I did cause some damage to the home, I didn't have my license and the car had no auto insurance. I was charged with criminal mischief 3 (for damages to the home), leaving the scene of a crime, driving without a license, driving without insurance and reckless driving. I do not want to go jail and I'm so lost and sorry for actions what can I do? Is there a way to make things better before in go to court? How can avoid jail and maybe get the charges reduced? I don't have much money I will need a lawyer, should I take my chances with a court appointed attorney

Yes, I suggest that a court-appointed attorney, probably one out of the public defender's office, isn't such a bad idea, actually. It appears to me that you need to make some sort of plea bargain, and the PDs are more experienced than most lawyers in making such deals.

Just don't feel pressured into taking whatever deal they suggest. It's your decision, not theirs.
