Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Arizona

If I default on a credit card that the bank has closed on me, what are the consequences. I have only social security and a small state retirement as income. I have a mortgage which I won't default on. Minimal savings. What can credit card company do to me.

How can you default on a credit card that the bank has closed on you? Is it just that you can no longer make any purchases on the card? If so, I would just pay it off as soon as possible in reasonable payment amounts. Any amount is better than none at all, and sooner and more frequent is better.

What they could "do to you" is hire a collection agency or go to small claims court to try to get the money recovered but, as they say, you can't get blood from a turnip, so if you don't have the money you don't have the money. It is unlikely they would try to put a lien on your home or anything like that. Just do the best you can to work with them and work out a reasonable payment plan to get the thing paid off. Then don't rack up any new charges on any other credit cards.

Good luck!
