Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

Legal rights for an unwed father and his parents.

My son became a father about a year ago. We knew this relationship would not last (They are not married). I quit my job to take care of the baby to help them out. She ended up not showing up one day, 1 week before his 1st birthday, we have seen the baby only once since September. My son has not seen his son in almost 3 months. Does he have any legal rights to make her let him see his son? The mother says my son has no rights. If he calls she yells harassment, if he doesn't make contact ''he doesn't care''.

Re: Legal rights for an unwed father and his parents.

Your son has rights as the legal father, BUT HE MUST TAKE LEGAL STEPS TO PURSUE THOSE RIGHTS. Until he takes the legal steps, he has nothing to enforce regarding his access to the child. But, once he does pursue his rights, there may very well be repercussions for the Mother's behavior.
