parental severment

what kind of paper work do i need to severe my ex-husbands parental rights. he has not been in contact for at least two years, does not pay child support, and has been diagnosed as paranoid scynophinc,he is in a mental state hospital, has lost all rights but parental. what do i need to have my current husband adopt?

Re: parental severment

You can file a "Petition to Terminate Parental Rights". Such is filed in the Juvenile Division of the Superior Court. You clearly have the bases for doing so. Once his rights are terminated, the child is then free to be adopted by your present Husband.
