Legal Question in Family Law in Arizona

Spousal Maint.

In what regards does the court consider the number of years married concerning spousal maintance? I have a situation of two years going on three this month. I am being told the duration is not long enough.

Anything I can prove to the judge I really did place the spouse above my own education/job seeking. He filed for the divorce.

Re: Spousal Maint.

The duration of the marriage can effect both the amount of spousal maintenance and the duration of spousal maintenance. However, a short marriage does not preclude the award. In fact, I have obtained awards in even shorter marriages than yours. Duration is just one of many factors.

Please call me directly if you would like to discuss this further.
